Sometimes it feels like you’re out of words when praying
Maybe you may feel you don’t even know what to say while communicating with your heavenly father.
Or you don’t know what to say or confess while in a situation
Then I think you should continue reading
Although, Jesus understood the power of God’s Word. So did David, Moses, the apostle Paul, the prophets of the Old Testament and countless other heroes of the faith. That’s why they quoted Scripture in their private interactions with God.
1. Praying God’s Word solidifies your relationship with the Lord.
When prayer is been talked about most of the time it means the act of talking to God
I mean prayer is a word for calling the interaction between you and God
Now praying God’s word means telling Him about what He had said about your life or a certain issue
In order to incorporate Scripture effectively into your prayer life, you have to spend time in its pages,
Studying God’s interaction with people in good times and in bad.
You’ll also have to examine the way he makes all things work according to his purposes and come face to face with the fact that no situation is ever beyond his control,
You have to make note of his goodness, his mercy, and his grace.
It just helps you know what to pray and how to pray to him because you understand Him better
And you can’t do those things without developing a deeper appreciation and love for the One who loves you beyond all measure and has a unique plan laid out for your life.
2. Praying God’s Word fosters a healthy perspective toward Scripture.
Hebrews 4:12 says “the word of God is alive and active.” It’s not some relic from a bygone era or an ancient religious history book.
It’s a tool, a weapon—a source of power, encouragement, and inspiration that’s every bit is as potent today as it was three thousand years ago.
To use God’s Word in prayer is to tap into its power —
To claim the promises that Moses clung to;
To marvel at the wonders of creation that blew David’s mind;
To connect with the Creator and Sustainer of the universe as Job did;
To find comfort and strength in our heavenly Father’s presence as Jesus did.
3. Praying God’s Word encourages an active and creative approach to prayer.
Most people complain that at the time they want to start praying they are short of words, to some others they say after a few minutes into the prayer they are short of words.
Incorporating Scripture into your prayers helps you fill up those moments where you might seem short of words.
Not only that, praying scriptures helps keep your prayers and prayer life more interesting.
4. You should pray Scripture because it helps you express yourself appropriately.
There are times during prayers where mere words can't help express what your heart longs or desires for.
Scriptures, on the other hand, goes a very long way in helping out.
5. You should pray Scripture because it helps you understand Scripture better.
During prayers, a revelation of scripture you knew could just come. You never can tell. God works in mysterious ways.
